Tony Spi is a multifaceted artist whose career bridges tradition and innovation. A singer-songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist, he has been deeply connected to music since childhood, inspired by his father—a drummer—who nurtured his passion for rock ’n’ roll, blues, and classic rock. His artistic journey took a decisive turn at the age of thirteen, when a family celebration introduced him to a Best Of album by Jimi Hendrix, sparking an enduring symbiosis with the guitar.

Over the years, Tony Spi has fronted numerous Sicilian bands, performing an eclectic repertoire that spans hard rock, blues, country-folk, funk, and soul. With a degree in Sound Engineering, he went on to establish Buddy Sound Studio in Catania, where he works professionally as a sound engineer and producer.

In 2022,he embarked on the creation of his debut album, WTTICS (When the Time Is Coming Slow). Recorded in collaboration with producer John Lui—with whom he forged a strong artistic and personal bond—the project took shape at the world-renowned Abbey Road Studios in London. Within just two days, they recorded vocals, harmonies, acoustic guitars, pianos, basses, and synthesizers, later finalizing the production at John Lui’s Dubrum Studio.

The album is a refined encounter between Tony Spi’s country-blues essence and John Lui’s electronic vision. The result is a sound that is both urban and rural, acoustic and electronic: an interplay where voice and acoustic guitar are elegantly supported by sampled drums, vintage synthesizers, and lo-fi textures.

On stage, Tony Spi presents an intimate yet dynamic live act, performing primarily solo with voice and guitar, enhanced by unique pedal effects, real-time loops, and spontaneous sequences. His performances embody both authenticity and innovation, offering audiences an immersive and distinctive musical experience.
