Artist: ALFRED K PAROLINO
PRICE: 16,90 euro
"Southern Dust Tales" was recorded between 2019 and 2022 in the personal studio of Alfred K Parolino, Banana Moon, located in the picturesque Ancient Cales in Campania, Italy. In the album, Alfred K plays a wide range of instruments and, in some tracks, received contributions from musicians with whom he has a long history of collaboration, supporting him in bringing the project to life.
The nine tracks that make up the album are a fusion of blues, dark country, and psychedelia, where Italian Southern traditional instruments such as mandolin, tambourine, accordion, and castanets are played in an unconventional context, blending with the electric sound of slide guitars, resonator instruments, and banjos.
The song lyrics, all original, explore themes such as isolation, sick love, loss of loved ones, and madness, all set against the backdrop of the Southern Italy far from the holiday and stereotypical images of sunny beaches and carefree life. Here, the more enigmatic and dark elements of Southern identity are analyzed in depth.
"Southern Dust Tales" is set to be released on December 21, 2023, by Simone Scifoni's Bloos Records, and will be available on both colored 180g vinyl and digital versions. The cover image, titled "Tornado," was created by artist Rocco Lombardi.
