One of the most original bands in the Italian blues scene of the new Millennium, born from Stefano Tavernese’s long experience in American traditional music and Armando Serafini’s unusual approach to percussion.

Their exciting live act mixes original tunes and surprising covers, moving songs and rousing instrumentals, ranging from traditional blues to contemporary rock, with an occasional touch of Celtic melancholy or enthralling African dance beat.

River Blonde's debut album, The Heart, the Healer & the Holy Groove (MRM Records/Appaloosa – IRD Distribution, 2016) has collected wide applause and appreciation.

Their new effort, Garage Blues (Bloos Records, 2023), conveys in 10 hot songs all the experience and tightness acquired through the years on many live stages.

A multifaceted instrumentalist, humorous performer and inventive vocalist, since the 1980s Stefano has ranged between traditional and ethnic music, blues, jazz, rock playing guitar, violin and an undefined number of other stringed instruments. He's been a guest player with several well-known Italian and international music acts, including gutsy rockers Gang, historic progressive band PFM, resophonic guitar ace Bob Brozman, Renzo Arbore's Orchestra Italiana, and alt-rock duo Bud Spencer Blues Explosion.

ARMANDO SERAFINI

The enthralling videos of his performances playing great funk or rock rhythms on all kinds of unusual surfaces are gathering thousands of views on the web. On stage, Armando plays the Guitarmandrum, as he calls his heavily customized percussion sets made of wooden boxes and metal gadgets. “Knuckles 'n' roll”, by all means!

It's not by accident that his stage name is Guitarmando; as a great guitar player and percussionist, he's a sought-after session musician who's played with many artists.
