"ARMONICADANCE"

ARMONICADANCE, is a new duo from Bologna of ElectroBlues extraction, consisting of Andreino Cocco and Gianluca Caselli.

Andreino Cocco, graduated at the Venice Academy of Fine Arts in 1979, painting course of Emilio Vedova of whom he was a student and a collaborator (1975-1982). In addition, in 1979 he formed with Raffaele Bisson the first example of acoustic blues duo in Italy (Encyclopedia of blues and black music, 1994). In the 1980s he collaborated with Valerie Wellington, Charlie Musselwhite, Louisiana Red and in later years with Big Jack Johnson, Angelo "Leadbelly" Rossi, Little Paul Venturi, Giorgio Cavalli and many other artists performing at the most important Blues festivals in Italy and Europe (among which Blues'n'jazz Rapperswil, Rootsway, DeltaBlues, Aventino, Milano Blues).

Gianluca Caselli, composer and great estimator of electronic music, founded Armonauts Harmonica Trio with whom he has performed at several international festivals (among which NHL Harmonica festival and Asia pacific Harmonica festival). Caselli is one of the few experts in orchestral harmonics in Italy and has been studying the unexplored world of harmonics for several years.

ARMONICADANCE, the new album that will be released by Bloos Records in 2023, is an original music project that took shape in Caselli's rehearsal room, a garage on the outskirts of Bologna, where the two musicians met and experimented with the contamination between the pure and the raw sound of Cocco's harmonica and the new sonorities offered by samplers and electronics.

A kind of music for all ages, which finds new life in technologies by using fragments of sampled voices of the greatest Bluesmen of the past to develop new musical tracks. In these tracks we can find the voices of John Lee Hooker, Sonny Boy Williamson II, Lightnin' Hopkins, Forrest City Joe, and James Brown.

All these musical tracks stem from improvisation and the development of a rhythmic idea, this is what led to the name of the album “ARMONICADANCE”.
